About
Born out of a desire to make cool stuff, Get Lasered was started in 2018 by me, Dustin Corbin, with nothing but a dream and a cheap K40 laser engraver. Today, it is still just me at the helm, but with slightly more regular customers, and a slightly more expensive laser cutter. This company was never intended to become a full time job, but pleasure I get from making cool projects that others want is extremely fulfilling. And hey, who doesn't like making an extra buck or two from their hobbies!
Humble Beginnings
My passion for laser cutters began during my time with my previous employer, Folger Tech. Witnessing the incredible creations they could produce inspired me to invest in one for myself.
Trial & Error
While cutting out things was always cool, I really took a liking to engraving images onto wood. This proved difficult to get to my standard, but I knew one day I would be able to create beautiful engraved images.
A New Hope
During the height of the 2020 pandemic, while working as an essential worker, I felt a strong urge to expand my skills as a maker. Seizing the moment, I invested in a new, larger, and more powerful laser engraver to take my craft to the next level.
Slow and Steady
The arrival of the new machine sparked a renewed commitment to quality. I dedicated countless hours to experimenting with materials and refining techniques, and soon, the results of my hard work became evident.
Constant Improvement
After years of trying, I can finally say that I am generally happy with my quality and consistency. I have begun experimenting with other methods and machines, such as plasma cutting, and integrating that into my offerings. I still strive to improve and hope that one day, this journey can lead me down the road of financial independence.
